Emily Euman - “Laces”. 18 years old

Emily Euman began her dance journey in a small country town in the Latrobe Valley at the age of 2 with the supportive dance teachers at Gippsland Academy of Dance. At the age of 14, she moved to Melbourne where she trained at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School for years 9 and 10. It was here that I was mentored by some of Australia’s most recognisable prima ballerinas including Madeline Eastoe. In her final years of schooling, Emily studied at the Transit Dance Academy where she focused on her commercial jazz and contemporary training.

Emily has been a part of the DANCE PRESCRIPTION family for 4 years now and she credits the training at DANCE PRESCRIPTION for catapulting her technique to the next level. She was offered the opportunity to be a Lab Assistant in 2022 which saw her travel to assist in workshops with Dr. Lisa in Melbourne, Adelaide, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast and Perth. In 2023, Emily was chosen to assist on the 2023 UK tour where she assisted at workshops across England, Scotland and Wales. This experience was a highlight for her and she was lucky to make new connections with dancers, teachers and choreographers.

In addition to her classical and jazz training, Emily has a background of 3 years of aerial training, consisting of silks and lyra (hoop), coached by a former aerialist from Cirque Du Soleil Rachel Hunt. She also has private singing coaching with Sophie Weiss (Elsa in Frozen the Musical Aus).

In competitive dance, Emily has won overall aggregates repeated times at the Morwell Festival of Dance, and Latrobe Valley Eisteddfod, and has also won Champion Dancer at Follow Your Dreams. She is well versed in the ATOD syllabus and has been very successful in their State and Australasian Ballet Scholarships. In 2019 she was awarded 1st Place in both the ATOD Victorian Scholarship and ATOD Australasian Scholarship.

Other dance experience includes RISE the Performance Experience (where she represented them as an Ambassador and as the Senior Team Leader in the Dance Stream), the Ballarat Dance Awards, and Scholarships to Jason Coleman's Ministry Of Dance, Transit Dance, Dance World and most recently Brent Street Intensives. She has also completed training at the Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Intensive.

Emily is passionate about teaching and educating young dancers and has recently started working with students in private consultations at DANCE PRESCRIPTION. She is planning to open up more opportunities this year to teach more students, both privately and in group settings.

DANCE PRESCRIPTION has dramatically changed me as a dancer and a person and I am so grateful. I get to develop my confidence whilst having the absolute best time!

Savannah Knight - "Desert”. 16 years old

Desert first became a part of the Dance Prescription team in 2017 when she was 9 years old. Since then, she has absolutely loved every moment of training, workshops, and touring. Her favourite experience with DANCE PRESCRIPTION was assisting Dr. Lisa at workshops across the UK. This gave her the opportunity to not only dance overseas, but to challenge herself technically, push her leadership and teaching skills, learn from new choreographers, and of course have an absolute blast with her DANCE PRESCRIPTION family.

Desert also trains at Patrick School of the Arts, where she attends the high school academy. She absolutely loves getting the skills she gains from PSA and getting to work on her craft as a performer. At PSA she learns all styles of dance as well as singing and acting. Her favourite dance styles are musical theatre, jazz, contemporary and lyrical.

Other extension programs Desert has also trained with include SCIMM, Platforms Youth Company and Ascension program.

Desert favourite technical skills are jumps and kick turns. Desert also loves challenging herself to try new skills and achieve what she didn’t think was possible. Being a part of the DANCE PRESCRIPTION team has made this incredibly easy, as everyone is super supportive and she feels constantly pushed to be better.

Desert has been competing across Australia since she was 9, is solos and troupes. In 2019 Desert competed with Next Generation Dance Studio at KAR dance competition in Las Vegas before going on to win a trip to dance at KAR in the US the following year.

Now she uses her passion for choreographing to create her own solos for competitions. In 2021 Desert was the 12-13 Evo Elite winner (at Evolution Dance Competition) and in 2024, she was the highest scoring Senior soloist, with her own choreography at Hollywood Bound Nationals.

I absolutely love being a part of the Dance Prescription team! I am constantly inspired by everybody around me and that motivates me to be the best dancer I can be. I love that Dr Lisa always finds fun, innovative ways to better our technique and helps us achieve our personal goals.
